Since 1838, this National Register building has been a landmark of the historic village of Weston, Vermont. Services and multiple other functions now keep alive its unique place in the ongoing story of Weston.
Come share with us the serenity, community and history that is the Church on the Hill.
Beginning October 18th, Weston's Church on the Hill invites you to "Bachtoberfest", a full weekend of Baroque music and more. Friday evening, October 18th from 6 to 7:30 pm, join us at the Village Green Gallery to "get a Handel on the weekend" with a sampling of German beer and wine, appetizers, and some very special music, co-sponsored by the Vermont Country Store, the Lakes Region Youth Orchestra, and the Village Green Gallery. Saturday, October 19th, enjoy a special "Bach's Lunch" at the Inn at Weston beginning at 12:00noon, followed at 2:30 pm by "Let's Talk Bach", an organ concert and lecture in the Old Parish Church by Ken and Julie Olsson, guaranteed to be a fun look into the life of Bach and his music.
And Sunday, October 20th at 3:00 pm, "come Bach for dessert"... Join us at the Church on the Hill for a "Bouquet of Musical Gems” featuring instruments, voices, and the Church on the Hill’s historic Jardine pipe organ. The concert will include music from the German, English, French, and Italian Baroque. James Cassarino, Associate Professor and Music Department Chair at Green Mountain College will serve as organist accompanying colleagues and several students from Green Mountain College in a delightful afternoon of music.
Tickets for the each of the Saturday and Sunday concerts are $10 and will be available at the doors. To make reservations for "Bach's Lunch" on Saturday, call the Inn at Weston, 802-824-6789. Cost for lunch and concert together is $25.00. Friday evening's event will be free of charge, but donations will be graciously accepted.
